Community work at Dukinfield Cricket Club

Tameside College students are working voluntarily with local community groups to gain valuable work experience.

Entry to Employment (E2E) students, along with Bricklaying and Construction students are currently reconstructing a new patio area and laying new paths at Dukinfield Cricket Club. The work has been arranged in conjunction with the English Cricket Board (ECB).

Lauren Cocking, Civil Engineering student, said: “It is great to get involved in projects like this one and we are really grateful to the tutors at the College for helping arrange this. It provides us with the skills we need to get into employment and this work will look good on our CVs.”

Daron Jackson arranged the community project and commented: “Tameside College has excellent links with the community and this enables us to help the students in the best possible way. It is great to see all of these students here today giving back to the community.”
